Decolonize! at Butte College April 3-6

Butte College is hosting its annual Decolonize! Week from Monday, April 3 to Thursday, April 6.

Decolonize! Week is a four-day event focused on hosting workshops and activities that are key to our campus strategic initiative to enhance a culture of inclusiveness. The overall intent is to inform and inspire current and future action by offering sessions that provide attendees with knowledge, training, and inspiration. The series of events and keynote speeches provides students with an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they advance in their education and career and become leaders on campus and in the community.

This year's Decolonize! Week events include a welcome ceremony on Monday followed by open houses hosted by our cultural centers. On the following days, our campus will host keynote speeches from Matika WilburMia Mingus, and Dr. Rebecca Gutierrez Keeton. Decolonize! will end with a decompression session where participants can reflect on the week of events through art, jewelry making, and relaxation.
