Butte College Athletics Raises $2k for Enloe Cancer Center

The Butte College Athletics department hosted its annual "I Wear Pink for __" football game on Saturday, Oct. 15. to raise awareness and money for breast cancer. For the second year in a row, the Roadrunners partnered with Enloe Medical Center's Cancer Center, with a portion of the proceeds of T-shirt and ticket sales from the game donated to the Enloe Cancer Center campaign. A total of $2,000 was raised for the campaign.

"It is important to us as an athletics department to be more involved in the community," said Butte College athletic director Melody Stockwell. "We have all been affected by breast cancer, and the sports world has really embraced creating more awareness. With the support of our amazing fan base, we increased our donation to Enloe this year and assisted in getting the word out about its efforts. We really have enjoyed working with Enloe for two seasons and look forward to continuing the partnership."
